View from Milan

Beauty in Milan for Fall 2013 was dramatic, modern and feminine.  I loved the following looks…

Punk Princesses at Fendi.  That gorgeous deep plum mouth is calling my name, and I think the hair is doable with some minor tweaking of course, unless that’s the look you want…I personally would tone down the feather mohawk.

Makeup: Peter Phillips  Hair: Sam McKnight

Prada:  Modern mermaids is what I thought after seeing these wet-haired beauties.  Perfect for those that have already mastered the art of having no time in the morning.  So finally not drying your hair can be stylish ; )

Versace always gives good face, and this time was no exception.  I loved the inky lined eyes, sepia toned shadow and the baby pink lips.  It was all framed by shiny, pin straight hair. Hot!

At Bottega Veneta the inspiration according to designer Tomas Maier was “Jodie Foster in taxi driver”.  So each model was given soft 40’s meets 70’s curls, and a matte brick-red pigment on the lips.

Roberto Cavalli always has that sexy, bohemian cool-girl look on lock.  This has been the blueprint for the brand since day one, and it works.  I would definitely do that gunmetal-black smokey eye, and slick center-parted hair for a night out.

Emilio Pucci: In theory I love bangs but in reality I just can’t do it.  I’m constantly brushing them aside, and that just doesn’t look sexy, which I think bangs are.  The look here was pure Jane Birkin and Marianne Faithfull, with each model getting a hairpiece (actually the best fake bangs I’ve seen in a while) slight waves, and highlights.  Combined with those sexy kitten eyes and soft pink lips it was simply gorgeous.

Hair: Luigi Murenu  Makeup: Lisa Butler

At Dolce & Gabbana it was once again classic Italian glamour, and it was stunning.  They don’t reinvent their woman every season like other brands, but that’s ok.  They have a defined sense of how the D&G woman wants to look and feel.
