I love Cara Delevingne’s look on the September issue of W magazine. The neutral yet intense palette on the eyes and those gorgeous muted lips take a backseat, letting her amazing eyebrows take centre stage (it really seems that the full brow trend has no plans on letting up, which is great). It’s an interesting departure from the reds, wines, and burgundies that is so often touted as the thing to do for fall. Photography by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott Styled […]
The Undercut is nothing new, and I’ve been in love with variations of the look for years now. I’ve never considered it for myself, not because I’m afraid to shave my head, (been there, and during an epic Quebec ice storm no less…), but rather I kept thinking about the “After”. You know, the brutal growing out phase that’s tough enough when you have a “regular” haircut, much less when one side is razored almost to the skin. Lately I haven’t been […]
Where’s the disheveled, greasy hair, the slept-in smeared makeup? The dirt? This definitely ain’t no Courtney Love makeup. The gorgeous Charlotte Coquelin in three “Neo Grunge” looks for spring. I was there the first time around, and grunge never looked this good. I guess that was the point though… From Jalouse Magazine via Le fashionimage.com
Ever since getting my first cut from my hairdresser aunt at fifteen, I have loooved short hair. I can’t lie though, up until that point I’d always had long hair and it was a traumatic experience seeing those first pieces of hair fall before my eyes. It was the early 90’s, and I think I had visions of Nia long and Winona’s pixie or Halle’s short “Strictly Business” cut dancing in my head. So off I went in to my […]
I love the subtle silver details in the makeup, and the 80’s inspired hair. It’s a beautiful look for NYE. Via RUSSH Model: Hirschy Hirschfelder Photographer: Stephen Ward Styled by: Billie Iveson
I love Rihanna’s makeup in her new “Diamonds” video. I also thought the nails were really beautiful (sorry couldn’t get a clear shot but check out the vid), and even though everyone and their grandma has had that haircut, I like it on her.
Although his version was a bit “grungier”, mega hairstylist Sam McKnight decided that eighties singing sensation Sade, would be the starting point to the look he created for Balmain. I’ve never met a hoop earring I didn’t like so Sade was always an inspiration for me, and with her slicked-back braid and red lip she was always gorgeous and undeniably sexy. Tough, edgy makeup from the amazing Pat McGrath. It was she who transformed gamine Rooney Mara, into misfit computer hacker Lisbeth Salander for Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I loved everything about her look in the film, and the makeup here is equally stunning. Check out the rest here.
